Description

A set neck and active EMG pickups make this deluxe axe a bargain.

The Schecter C-1 Platinum Electric Guitar takes everything guitar players love about the popular C-1 and adds platinum fingerboard inlays, fretboard and body binding, and satin chrome hardware. This C-1 also boasts a double cutaway mahogany body, 25.5″ scale set maple neck, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. A Schecter Ultra Access neck joint lets you reach the entire fretboard with ease and comfort. It’s loaded with a pair of EMG Active 81/85 pickups for an incredible range of tones.

Grover tuners

The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.

Rosewood fingerboard
The most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

EMG Active 81/85 pickups
One of the most popular EMG’ the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high-end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions, the sound can only be described as blistering. Recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup.

3-piece maple neck
The C-1 Platinum is made with three pieces of maple for extra stability. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the three-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

  1. S.I. Jammer

This Guitar can do it all. To start the cords ring true no matter how you play then. Open chords sound clean and lively you can definitely play acoustic style songs. Power cords sound Evil, strong and clear. The neck is smooth and the fret board is buttery. Out of the box the action is dead on. Very easy to chug along muting your playing with the fixed bridge (my favorite). Stays in tune period! Easy to change 9v batt on the EMG’s pickups via back acc panel. Light and Sturdy, I’ve owned the guitar for 2 months no problems yet. This is a fun guitar to play. My band is very happy with it and all my guitar friends like it too.

  2. Dark Star Deceiver

Schecter is pretty well known for making a quality guitar for a low price point. The C1 Platinum is built in the South Korea plant and it stands up to most a grand and up guitars that I’ve played as far as quality goes. In addition to the feel and looks, it is loaded with EMG active pickups. It is a MF/GC exclusive so I assume that it won’t be around for too long. I got it for a crazy deal from Geekshoppers and it’s hard to believe the quality and features of this instrument for the price I paid. This guitar is worth way more than even the regular price.

Good setup out of box, quality materials and finishes. Plays great!

First thing that caught my eye was the 81/85 combo. Now, I am relatively new to using EMG pickups, but at first glance, I fell in love with this guitar! The neck is a 3-piece which is very easy to glide up and down, which is an absolute must for me. The frets are, in my experience of playing on different fretboards over the last 10 – 15 years, a perfect fit. I first picked this up at a Guitar Center near me and didn’t want to part with it. Very few of these instruments come my way in which I want it at first glance. The finish is well done. The body of the guitar – I love mahogany wood! Always have. Rosewood – my favorite fretboard. Very smooth playing with a lot of punch via the EMG’s! I recommend either putting GHS Boomers on this bad boy or D’Addario’s. I can say I am a proud owner and would gladly buy this again!

  5. Markly

This is a fantastic instrument. Set-neck construction, 3-piece maple neck, mahogany body with figured maple cap. The set-neck joint is well-executed, and in addition to providing excellent upper fret access, the entire guitar resonates extremely well.

I Really wanted to love this guitar. So much that I returned the first one and got another. Bought from Geekshoppers Friend parent company Guitar Center. Fell in love with how amazing and effortless the guitar was to play. the neck is absolutely perfect. As for the sound, excellent.

The guitar looks and feels great the neck binding is perfect as always can bring the action down a touch but that’s just kind of a given. I got this as a steal was cheaper on another site geekshoppers matched and gave me labor day on top of it it couldn’t be happier. I only gave it 4 stars for one reason there’s some slight I guess dents to the back of the neck barely noticeable but I know they are there other then that it’s a 5.

  8. Davis

There is something special about this guitar. First off, it has a really nice weight to it. The satin finish on the body is what really sets it apart from the glossy versions, in my opinion. It gives the guitar such a better look. The neck feels great. And I mean great. Very smooth feeling when you’re playing and running your hand down the length of it. The pickups are ok, I think they are meant to be changed anyway. They do sound great with the right amp though.

  9. Hawaii50

I bought this guitar as part of a cyber week deal for on MF. What an outstanding deal! I have been tracking several Schecters as a metal guitar (Hellraiser C-1, Damien Platinum, etc..). The Damien Platinum (with bat inlays) is the identical guitar as this C-1 Platinum (spec for spec), except for the bat inlays, and the C-1 top looks way nicer in my opinion. This guitar feels super nice and it is very easy to play (I’m a beginner). The neck is very smooth and I really like the xjumbo frets. I can afford a much more expensive guitar, but this guitar is outstanding in every way.
